BOHMAN'S GOES

TO BATH
Prologue

This site is about our travel to Bath, UK. We visited our good friends Andrew and Rachel and their two sons, Joshua and Finlay in august 2007 (10'th to 13'th). We had a wonderful time there and we will never forget the hospitality and the great welcoming they gave us!

Another great thing with our visit in Bath was that we had a fantastic weather all the time, which raised the experience above all expectations. What is the odds for that to happen in one of the most rainy years in decades

Going to Bath

We started from home at 9.30 am to leave Linette, André and Jennifer at Marthina and Mika's house. Everything worked out fine and after a lot of hugs and kisses we left 10.10 am for Arlanda airport, Stockholm.

We flew at 9500 feet (2900 m) of height which made it possible to see a lot during the flight.

We arrived at Arlanda airport at 2.00 pm and after some trouble to get the prepaid parking to work with my credit card. We got in good time to the departure terminal 5.

The flight went very well, even Elin (2 yrs and 3 months) did well. No problem with the ears at take off and landing.

Article Header Three

We arrived on Friday evening and on Saturday we went out to see Bath. Everyone had ice cream which was great in the hot sun.

Cool off with an ice cream

The Picnic

Later that Saturday we went to a picnic/BBQ at some friends house. We had a wonderful time (thank you David and Carol) with good food, good friends and beautiful weather. Their house is a renovated barn.

The Victoria Park

On Sunday we were quite tired and slept a bit longer.  In the afternoon Rachel cooked a fabulous spaghetti bolognese on lamb.

After the delicious dinner we all went down to Victoria Park. This is a very beautiful park with some funny looking trees, statues and of course the Royal Crescent.

The Roman Baths

Now, this is really cool! If you ever visit Bath, you can not miss the Roman Baths. This bath is from the ancient Roman era built on the only hot springs in the UK. But make sure you have a lot of time if you really want to discover this World Inheritage. Make sure to bring your camera.

The great bath.

Going back home

Our travel home went according to the plan. We landed at Arlanda airport 45 minutes before schedule. At 2 am we opened the front door at home.
